It lives on your phone
Your jars are stored on your device in an encrypted database. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to turn on backup or share a keepsake.
Backups only you can read
Turn on cloud backup and everything is encrypted on your phone first, with a key locked by your passphrase. We store the scrambled version and cannot read it.
Shared links carry their own key
When you share a keepsake, the key to open it sits in the link itself and is never sent to us. Only someone with the link can read it.
No ads, no trackers, nothing sold
Memory Jar is paid for by its subscriptions and purchases, not by advertising or selling your data. There are no third-party trackers.

You can also lock the app behind your fingerprint or face. Cloud data is hosted in the UK.
